MeadWestvaco Expects to Present Preliminary Master Plan for East Edisto in Late March

SUMMERVILLE, S.C., February 7, 2008 — MeadWestvaco today announced that it anticipates presenting the preliminary master plan for East Edisto in late March. East Edisto is the company's contiguous acreage along the eastern edge of the Edisto River in Charleston and Dorchester Counties.
"Over the past year, we have received valuable input from the community through numerous public meetings, comment cards, and suggestions submitted through our Web site, EastEdisto.com," said Ken Seeger, president of MeadWestvaco's Community Development and Land Management Group. "Our team of expert planning partners, led by EDAW, has been working hard to create a conservation-inspired plan that reflects our planning principals and is responsive to the needs and interests of the community. We expect to present that plan in late March."
Seeger noted that the planning team is working closely with the Council of Governments (COG), as well as the planning leadership in individual counties. "Our goal is to provide a plan that is part of the growth solution for this region," Seeger said.
